History
The KU Student United Way chapter was founded during the 2019-2020 academic year by sibling duo, Courtland and Lorre’al Triplett. Since their founding, the organization has worked with a variety of community partners to serve and lift up the campus and Lawrence Communities.One of the organization’s signature projects is Hungry for the holidays, a fall semester food drive in collaboration with KU Student Housing. This project and other accomplishments earned the KU Student United Way the title of New Student Organization of the Year by the KU Student Involvement and Leadership Center in 2020.
What We Do
The Student United Way at the University of Kansas serves the local community by:
- giving, advocating, and volunteering in the areas of education, income and health
- helping members and other students grow as leaders and connect to the community
- building lasting relationships amongst members and with the United Way movement
